The Uranium One scandal that Hillary Clinton finds herself in the middle of would be one of the biggest political bombshells in modern American history if a Republican were involved. Impeachment proceedings would have already begun against Donald Trump.
However, Hillary and Obama are the focus of the scandal so the media isn’t really interested in it.
In case you’ve been living on another planet the last few months. Here’s the story that broke this case wide open and has sparked called for a Special Counsel investigation into Hillary and Obama.
From The Hill:
Before the Obama administration approved a controversial deal in 2010 giving Moscow control of a large swath of American uranium, the FBI had gathered substantial evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering designed to grow Vladimir Putin’s atomic energy business inside the United States, according to government documents and interviews.
Federal agents used a confidential U.S. witness working inside the Russian nuclear industry to gather extensive financial records, make secret recordings and intercept emails as early as 2009 that showed Moscow had compromised an American uranium trucking firm with bribes and kickbacks in violation of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, FBI and court documents show.
They also obtained an eyewitness account — backed by documents — indicating Russian nuclear officials had routed millions of dollars to the U.S. designed to benefit former President Bill Clinton’s charitable foundation during the time Secretary of State Hillary Clinton served on a government body that provided a favorable decision to Moscow, sources told The Hill.
Guess who was running the show at the FBI when this was going on?
Mueller. The guy running the Russia investigation into Trump. A little problematic maybe?
The bottom line is that Hillary and Obama teamed up to ship 20% of our Uranium supply to Russia and Hillary’s foundation got millions of dollars as a reward.
There’s really no doubt about that.
Here’s more on what’s really going on.
Republicans have been clamoring for Jeff Sessions to do something about this.
Now, it looks like he might.
From Fox News:
Attorney General Jeff Sessions directed senior federal prosecutors to evaluate “certain issues” requested by congressional Republicans, involving the sale of Uranium One and alleged unlawful dealings related to the Clinton Foundation, leaving the door open for an appointment of another special counsel.
In a letter first obtained by Fox News, the Justice Department responded to July 27 and September 26 requests from House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., and other committee members, who called for the appointment of a special counsel to investigate the matters in question.
The letter comes on the eve of Sessions’ testimony before the same committee, scheduled for Tuesday.
“The Attorney General has directed senior federal prosecutors to evaluate certain issues raised in your letters,” Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd wrote.
Definitely a good sign.
This needs to be done.
Unfortunately, Sessions has been reluctant to get involved with some key issues that are dominating conservative media outlets. If Sessions can’t even bother to investigate this, he needs to just find a new job. He’s a good man. But, it’s time to act.
Stay tuned. This looks like it’s about to get very interesting.
