Texas Rep. Al Green has just introduced articles of legislation to have President Donald Trump impeached.
Green has quickly become one of the nuttiest members of Congress. Naturally, he resides firmly on the left side of the aisle.
It all started on November 8, 2016, the day Donald Trump was elected 45th president of the United States. Since then, Green, like most progressives, has dedicated his life to acting even more irrationally than normal.
These lefties can’t seem to understand that Trump won precisely because of Barack Obama’s weak, failed leadership. That shouldn’t be hard to comprehend.
Check it out…
From Fox News:
Liberal Democratic Rep. Al Green on Wednesday followed through on threats to file articles of impeachment against President Trump, introducing the resolution in the House while delivering an anti-Trump tirade on the floor.
The Texas congressman’s maneuver was short-lived. While Green could have forced a vote as early as Wednesday, he opted not to take further action and the articles effectively expired.
However, Green could reintroduce the measure at any time, and a spokesman for the lawmaker told Fox News he may do so.
“Today, I rise to use the constitutionally prescribed political process of impeachment to speak truth to the most powerful man on earth, the president of the United States of America,” Green said in a speech on the House floor.
Green’s argument is that Trump is betraying “his trust as president” because he’s a racist, homophobic, xenophobic, yada yada, you know the rest.
He added, “The public has been led to believe that a president must commit a crime to be impeached, which is not true. If any president persisted with the lie that ‘Hitler was right,’ he would be, and should be, impeached not for a crime, but for betraying his trust as president.”
Loser says what?
Brad Sherman, a Democrat from California, filed articles similiar to Green’s back in July, per The Hill:
Rep. Brad Sherman (D-Calif.) formally introduced an article of impeachment against President Trump on Wednesday that accuses the president of obstructing justice during the federal investigation of Russia’s 2016 election interference.
This is the first time a lawmaker has offered an impeachment article against Trump, and it comes as Democrats have debated whether it is politically wise to press the case for impeachment at this time.
A majority vote in the House, currently controlled by Republicans, is required to impeach a president. Republicans have a 46-seat advantage.
Fellow Californian Rep. Maxine Waters called for Mike Pence to be impeached after Trump:
ABC’s “The View” host Joy Behar and Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) agreed on Friday that President Trump and Vice President Pence should both be impeached.
“Do you think Pence will be better than Trump if he were impeached? asked Behar.
“No,” replied Waters. “And when we finish with Trump we have to go and get Putin. He’s next.”
“Putin or Pence?” Behar asked.
“Uh, Pence,” Waters said.
“We’ll get two for one, with Trump and Putin, then we got to go after Pence,” Behar declared.
If we’re being honest, Trump has done nothing to be impeached over. The stock market is thriving and unemployment is down. Sure, 45 says crazy things at times and uses Twitter like a political blogger might, but that’s his prerogative.
Attacking the commander-in-chief on nonsensical issues will only make going after him if he actually screws up that much more difficult. Green and the left need to pick their battles. Turning every single argument up to 11 every time Trump opens his mouth isn’t helping matters, nor is it doing anything to unite a divided nation.
