In the debacle that is the Harvey Weinstein scandal, some in Hollywood have condemned him for his actions. But many others have remained painfully silent.
However, one person has taken a completely different tack.
Lindsay Lohan is actually defending him, all the way from where she is in Dubai by video, telling people they should lay off him.
Now it may be, not being in the United States, Lohan is not aware of the firestorm this case has become.
But according to Fox, Lohan made her comments in two deleted Instagram videos.
Here’s a copy of what she said.
“I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now, I don’t think it’s right what’s going on,” Lindsay explained, according to EOnline.com. “I think Georgina needs to take a stand and be there for her husband.”
Lohan went on: “He’s never harmed me or did anything to me — we’ve done several movies together. I think everyone needs to stop — I think it’s wrong. So stand up.”
She mentions ‘Georgina,’ a reference to Georgina Chapman, Harvey Weinstein’s wife. But Chapman has already said that she is leaving Weinstein and that her heart ‘breaks’ for any of the women he may.have abused.
“My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions. I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time,” her statement read.
So no, she wouldn’t be ‘standing’ with him. They had been married for 10 years.
His studio wouldn’t be standing by him either, not only firing him but looking to scrub the ‘Weinstein’ name from ‘Weinstein Company’ and come out with a new name. Although word is he’s trying to hold onto some kind of informal role.
According to TMZ, he’s gone to Europe to a rehab for sex addiction and behavioral issues.
That could put him beyond the reach of the police should they be inclined to follow up on any of these cases.
It’s hard to believe that anyone could come forward to support him at this point.
And it’s not clear why Lohan is supporting him, maybe it’s really based on friendship.
People were not feeling her reaction.

And from Rose McGowan who alleges that Harvey Weinstein raped her:
Please go easy on Lindsay Lohan. Being a child actor turned sex symbol twists the brain in ways you can’t comprehend.

After her Instagram videos got a lot of negative reaction, she issued a formal statement to the Daily Mail.
‘I am saddened to hear about the allegations against my former colleague Harvey Weinstein.
‘As someone who has lived their life in the public eye, I feel that allegations should always be made to the authorities and not played out in the media.
‘I encourage all women who believe Harvey harmed them to report their experiences to the relevant authorities,’ she said.
Unfortunately many didn’t report it. And many of the cases are likely beyond the statute of limitations. But some of them may still be withing time. So those people most definitely should.
